Learn about the breed!
 :: Sugarok Kennels ::

Ahh, the lovely Kewpie T Doo. My first Finnish Lapphund. Sadly I lost her in May 2002 and even though she was only in my life for 4 short years I can never forget that unique dog. She hated people. animals, noises, well everything really. except food. Or whatever she deemed worthy of being considered food. electric bills, floor-hockey pucks, paper, mud, anything slimy and smelly off the ground... Those were the days.

I shall always remember her fondly, as not only was she my first ever Finnish Lapphund and my introduction to the breed, she was also my first pet after having moved out of my parents' home. She was mine.

Adopted from Sugarok Kennels at the lovely age of 6, Kewpie came to my home by airplane. That was the first trip I ever took where I had to take 4 planes in 24 hours. What an adventure! I was terrified. But Kewpie got home safe and sound - and traumatized by the noise from the plane so she had quite a few, um, psychological quirks. First dog I ever knew who evened up taking Prozac. ;)

After contracting some bizarre blood and immune system illness (to this day we're still not 100% sure what she had, probably cancer, too). I lost Kewpie very quickly from the start of her illness in April until 6 weeks late in May when I had to say goodbye. She was wonderful and did occasionally like to cuddle. But she had personality - if you consider being snubbed when you walked in the room personality. Heh heh. I loved her with all my heart. I now have the honour of sharing my heart with her niece Annie.

Please enjoy some of my favourite photos of Kewpie below.
